Key advantage: gel + heparin

Combination of separation gel and sodium heparinate ensures obtaining maximally clean plasma with complete preservation of biochemical profile, including electrolytes in physiological concentrations.

Key characteristics

Final product Cell-poor plasma
Tube material Medical glass
Anticoagulant Sodium heparinate
Separation gel Yes
Blood draw volume 8,5 ml
PPP 8.5 ml Tube

How it works

Unique combination of sodium heparinate and separation gel ensures obtaining clean injectable plasma with complete preservation of biochemical profile.

Anticoagulant role

Heparin — natural glycosaminoglycan, one of most powerful anticoagulants. Unlike citrate which binds calcium, heparin acts through antithrombin III activation.

Separation gel role

Separation gel — main technological feature of this tube. This is biologically inert olefin polymer (thixotropic gel), specific gravity of which precisely selected between specific gravity of plasma and blood formed elements.

Material role

Glass tube body made of medical borosilicate glass, providing optimal conditions for preserving blood components.

Heparin and gel synergy

Combination of heparin with separation gel creates unique advantages for plasma therapy and diagnostics.

Doesn't affect electrolytes — calcium and other ions remain in physiological concentration
Biochemical profile preservation — enzyme and metabolite concentrations unchanged
Biocompatibility — heparin is natural substance, reducing unwanted reaction risk
Clear fraction separation — accidental mixing impossible
Protection from contamination — metabolic products don't enter plasma
Maximum sample stability — double protection from coagulation and cellular contamination
Parallel research — part of plasma can be used for biochemical analyses

What you will get

Final product characteristics

Clear light yellow liquid plasma. Approximately 3.5–4.5 ml from 8.5 ml of blood. Stable for up to 48 hours.

Biological activity

Plasma contains wide range of biologically active components:

Electrolyte profile: Preserved (advantage over citrate plasma)
Albumins — nutrient transport, osmotic pressure support
Globulins — immune factors, transport proteins
Electrolytes (Ca2+, K+, Na+, Mg2+) — in physiological concentrations
Enzymes and hormones — in unchanged activity

Heparin plasma feature

Unlike citrate plasma where part of calcium bound, heparin plasma contains free calcium in physiological concentration. This important for calcium-dependent cellular processes, enzyme system activation and parallel biochemical research accuracy.

Clinical application

Plasma therapy tube with sodium heparinate intended for wide range of medical and aesthetic procedures.

Direction Indications
Aesthetic medicine Skin biorevitalization, texture and tone improvement, hydration, aging prevention
Trichology Hair follicle trophism improvement, hair loss prevention
Surgery Wound healing stimulation, microcirculation improvement, trophic disorders
Regenerative medicine Combination with cellular technologies (autofibroblasts, stromal-vascular fraction, MSC)
Laboratory diagnostics Parallel biochemical research (electrolytes, enzymes, hormones)
Gynecology Mucosal revitalization, age-related changes
Dentistry Oral mucosa recovery stimulation

Best suited for

Local biorevitalization procedures on separate areas, cases when important to preserve plasma electrolyte balance, situations where parallel biochemical research needed, combined protocols with cellular technologies.

Why choose this tube

Sodium heparinate

Complete plasma biochemical profile preservation, including electrolytes in physiological concentrations.

Separation gel

Plasma purity and work convenience guarantee. Gel forms stable barrier between plasma and cellular mass.

Physiological calcium

Unlike citrate plasma, calcium not bound — important for cellular processes and research accuracy.

Double stability

Heparin + gel ensure long sample preservation up to 48 hours without quality change.

Diagnostics possibility

Part of plasma can be used for biochemical analyses parallel to therapy.

Compact 8.5 ml volume

Optimal for local biorevitalization procedures on separate small areas.

Recommended protocol

Protocol compliance ensures obtaining highest quality plasma with maximum therapeutic potential.

1

Preparation

Check package integrity and expiration date. Make sure gel located at tube bottom (structure not disturbed). Prepare necessary equipment: blood collection needle, holder, centrifuge, syringes.

2

Blood draw

Perform venipuncture using standard technique. Wait for complete tube filling (8.5 ml). After filling, carefully invert tube 8-10 times for thorough blood mixing with heparin.

3

Centrifugation

Install tube in centrifuge vertically. Balance rotor (for odd number use water counterweight). Centrifuge at standard speed for 10-15 minutes. After centrifugation make sure of clear layer separation and gel barrier formation.

4

Obtaining plasma

Carefully remove tube, avoiding sudden movements. Visually assess separation quality: upper layer — transparent light yellow plasma, middle layer — gel barrier, lower layer — erythrocytes and leukocytes. Using syringe with needle, draw plasma without touching gel layer. Expected volume: 3.5-4.5 ml clean plasma.

5

Application

For injection use new sterile syringe and appropriate size needle. Administer plasma within 30-60 minutes after obtaining. Follow injection technique for selected area (papular, linear, bolus).

Important

Important: thorough heparin mixing critical for reliable anticoagulation.

Why do therapeutic tubes cost more than laboratory tubes?

MM Medic tubes are class IIa medical devices certified for therapeutic use. Laboratory tubes (IVD) are intended exclusively for testing and disposal, not for introduction into the human body.

Contents

Safe anticoagulants (citrate, heparinate) or no additives (PRF)—formulated for therapeutic use. Laboratory tubes contain EDTA, which irreversibly destroys platelets.

Material

Medical borosilicate glass or special medical-grade PET—selected for the specific therapeutic protocol. Laboratory tubes are not designed for contact between their contents and the patient's tissues.

Certification

ISO 13485:2016, safety class IIa, gamma sterilization, individual sterile packaging. Laboratory tubes carry only an IVD marking.

Note

The cost difference compared to laboratory tubes is 50–80 UAH—less than 2% of the procedure cost (2,500–5,000 UAH). Using uncertified tubes for injections violates the law and puts the patient's health at risk. Learn more in the FAQ

Important warnings

Single use only. Re-sterilization prohibited.

For autologous use only — plasma administered exclusively to patient from whose blood it was obtained.
Prohibited to use with damaged packaging, gel integrity violation or after expiration date.
Don't invert tube after centrifugation — this may disrupt gel barrier.
Heparin doesn't undergo inversion, unlike citrate. Anticoagulant effect persists after tissue administration, although in therapeutic volumes this has no clinical significance.
