Double platelet protection

Professional tube provides simultaneous biochemical and physical platelet protection — this defines quality level and guarantees obtaining PRP with maximum therapeutic potential.

Key characteristics

Final product Cell-rich plasma
Tube material Medical glass
Anticoagulant Sodium citrate
Separation gel No
Blood draw volume 8,5 ml
PRP 8.5 ml Tube

How it works

Two key factors ensure obtaining highest quality PRP: optimal anticoagulant and inert tube material.

Anticoagulant role

Sodium citrate — gold standard anticoagulation for PRP therapy. Reliably prevents blood coagulation keeping platelets in natural state.

Material role

Medical glass provides complete chemical inertness and optimal conditions for preserving all blood components during procedure.

Preserves platelet morphology
Maintains functional activity
Acts reversibly — platelets activated naturally
Chemical inertness — no blood interaction
Vacuum stability throughout shelf life
Transparency — visual layer separation control

What you will get

Final product characteristics

Golden liquid plasma, 3–4 ml from 8.5 ml of blood. Platelet count 4–5 times above baseline.

Biological activity

After tissue administration, platelets activated by extracellular matrix collagen and release:

Platelet state: viable, morphologically intact, non-activated
Leukocyte content: minimal (depending on protocol)
PDGF — cell proliferation stimulation
TGF-beta — collagen and extracellular matrix synthesis
VEGF — angiogenesis (new vessel formation)
EGF — epithelium regeneration

Usage time

Obtained PRP should be used within 10-30 minutes after centrifugation to preserve maximum biological activity.

Clinical application

PRP Professional 8.5 ml tube intended for wide range of medical and aesthetic procedures.

Direction Indications
Aesthetic medicine Face skin rejuvenation, periorbital zone, fine wrinkle correction, skin texture improvement, atrophic scar and post-acne treatment, melasma
Trichology Androgenetic alopecia (AGA), hair growth stimulation, hair follicle trophism improvement
Orthopedics / Traumatology Knee and hip joint osteoarthritis (I-III st. by Kellgren-Lawrence), tendinopathies, epicondylitis, muscle and ligament damage
Surgery Wound healing stimulation, diabetic ulcers, trophic ulcers
Gynecology / Urology Vulvo-vaginal rejuvenation, Peyronie's disease
Ophthalmology Dry eye syndrome, blepharitis

Best suited for

Local procedures treating one area — periorbital region, individual wrinkles, point joint injections, trichological procedures on limited area.

Why choose this tube

Double platelet protection

Maximum PRP quality thanks to combination of biochemical and physical platelet protection from collection moment to administration.

Optimal 8.5 ml volume

Sufficient for local procedures without excess. Smaller blood collection volume — more comfortable for patient.

Anticoagulation gold standard

Sodium citrate — internationally recognized standard preserving platelet function and ensuring optimal anticoagulant to blood ratio.

Medical glass

Material chemical inertness and vacuum stability throughout entire shelf life.

Economic efficiency

Smaller volume — lower cost for single zone procedures. No excess biomaterial wasted.

Recommended protocol

Protocol compliance ensures obtaining highest quality PRP with maximum therapeutic potential.

1

Preparation

Check package integrity and expiration date. Prepare necessary equipment: blood collection needle, holder, centrifuge, syringes.

2

Blood draw

Perform venipuncture using standard technique. Wait for complete tube filling (8.5 ml). After filling, carefully invert tube 5-6 times to mix with anticoagulant.

3

Centrifugation

Install tube in centrifuge vertically. Balance rotor (for odd number use water counterweight). Centrifuge according to chosen protocol.

4

Obtaining PRP

Carefully remove tube, avoiding layer mixing. Using syringe with long needle draw plasma above erythrocyte layer. For injection use new sterile syringe and needle.

5

Application

Administer PRP within 10-30 minutes after obtaining. Follow injection protocol for selected area.

Critically important

Critically important: maintain exact 8.5 ml volume to maintain optimal blood:anticoagulant ratio.

Why do therapeutic tubes cost more than laboratory tubes?

MM Medic tubes are class IIa medical devices certified for therapeutic use. Laboratory tubes (IVD) are intended exclusively for testing and disposal, not for introduction into the human body.

Contents

Safe anticoagulants (citrate, heparinate) or no additives (PRF)—formulated for therapeutic use. Laboratory tubes contain EDTA, which irreversibly destroys platelets.

Material

Medical borosilicate glass or special medical-grade PET—selected for the specific therapeutic protocol. Laboratory tubes are not designed for contact between their contents and the patient's tissues.

Certification

ISO 13485:2016, safety class IIa, gamma sterilization, individual sterile packaging. Laboratory tubes carry only an IVD marking.

Note

The cost difference compared to laboratory tubes is 50–80 UAH—less than 2% of the procedure cost (2,500–5,000 UAH). Using uncertified tubes for injections violates the law and puts the patient's health at risk. Learn more in the FAQ

Important warnings

Single use only. Reuse prohibited.

For autologous use only — PRP administered exclusively to patient from whose blood it was obtained.
Prohibited to use with damaged packaging, presence of cracks or after expiration date.

Frequently asked questions

Why this tube ensures high PRP quality?

PRP Professional tube combines special inner surface treatment and sodium citrate anticoagulant which together prevent premature activation and platelet adhesion to walls. This allows keeping them in unchanged state and obtaining PRP with maximum therapeutic potential.

What is difference between 8.5 ml and 12 ml tube?

8.5 ml tube ideally suited for local aesthetic procedures (periorbital area, individual wrinkles), gives yield 3-4 ml PRP and more comfortable for patient. 12 ml tube designed for large areas and orthopedics, gives 5-6 ml PRP.

What blood to anticoagulant ratio must be followed?

It is critically important to draw the exact blood volume—precisely 8.5 mL to the mark on the tube. An insufficient or excessive amount of blood may lead to the formation of microclots or a reduction in PRP quality.

How long does PRP remain stable after preparation?

PRP maintains stability for 4 hours at room temperature. However, for maximum effectiveness, immediate application recommended, as platelet and growth factor activity highest immediately after preparation.

Why is 3.2% sodium citrate used and not other anticoagulants?

Concentration 3.2% (0.109 mol/l) sodium citrate is internationally recognized standard for coagulation studies and PRP preparation. It ensures best preservation of coagulation factors, platelets and minimizes blood dilution effect.
