Tubes for PRP (PROFESSIONAL) with sodium citrate, 12ml
Professional vacuum tube for PRP therapy of increased volume. Sodium citrate 3.2% + 0.6% siliconization for maximum yield of non-activated platelets. Ideal for treatment of large anatomical areas: scalp, back, thighs.
Class IIa medical device
Not a laboratory tube. Certified for therapeutic use (ISO 13485). The cost difference compared to laboratory tubes is less than 2% of the procedure price. Why does this matter?
Volume:

Double platelet protection
Professional tube provides simultaneous biochemical and physical platelet protection — this defines quality level and guarantees obtaining PRP with maximum therapeutic potential.
Key characteristics
How it works
Two key factors ensure obtaining highest quality PRP: optimal anticoagulant and inert tube material.
Anticoagulant role
Sodium citrate — gold standard anticoagulation for PRP therapy. Reliably prevents blood coagulation keeping platelets in natural state.
Material role
Medical glass provides complete chemical inertness and optimal conditions for preserving all blood components during procedure.
Increased volume advantage
40-50% more ready PRP
12 ml tube allows obtaining approximately 5-6 ml ready PRP from one draw — this is 40-50% more than from 8.5 ml tube.
Multiple area treatment
Possibility to treat face + neck + décolleté in one procedure without need for repeated blood collection.
Large joints
Sufficient material for knee, hip and shoulder joint injections.
Material reserve
PRP reserve for additional injections without repeated patient blood collection.
What you will get
Final product characteristics
Golden liquid plasma, 5–6 ml from 12 ml of blood. Platelet count 4–5 times above baseline.
Biological activity
After tissue administration, platelets activated by extracellular matrix collagen and release:
Usage time
Obtained PRP should be used within 10-30 minutes after centrifugation to preserve maximum biological activity.
Clinical application
PRP Professional 12 ml tube intended for wide range of medical and aesthetic procedures where significant volume of concentrated PRP needed.
Best suited for
Complex procedures treating multiple anatomical areas simultaneously, orthopedic injections into large joints, trichological procedures on entire scalp.
Why choose this tube
Increased 12 ml volume
40-50% more PRP for complex procedures. Sufficient for treating multiple areas in one procedure.
Double platelet protection
Maximum PRP quality thanks to combination of biochemical and physical platelet protection from collection moment to administration.
Ideal for orthopedics
Optimal volume for large joint injections: knee (4-6 ml), hip (4-6 ml), shoulder.
Anticoagulation gold standard
Sodium citrate — internationally recognized standard preserving platelet function and ensuring optimal anticoagulant to blood ratio.
Medical glass
Material chemical inertness and vacuum stability throughout entire shelf life.
Time saving
One draw instead of multiple for large area treatment. No waste of unused excess biomaterial.
PRP volume distribution recommendations
For complex procedures, recommended distribution of obtained PRP (5-6 ml):
Volumes are approximate and may be adjusted depending on clinical situation and chosen protocol.
Recommended protocol
Protocol compliance ensures obtaining highest quality PRP with maximum therapeutic potential.
Preparation
Check package integrity and expiration date. Prepare necessary equipment: blood collection needle, holder, centrifuge, syringes.
Blood draw
Perform venipuncture using standard technique. Wait for complete tube filling (12 ml). After filling, carefully invert tube 5-6 times to mix with anticoagulant.
Centrifugation
Install tube in centrifuge vertically. Balance rotor (for odd number use water counterweight). Centrifuge according to chosen protocol.
Obtaining PRP
Carefully remove tube, avoiding layer mixing. Using syringe with long needle draw plasma above erythrocyte layer. Expected PRP volume: 5-6 ml. For injection use new sterile syringe and needle.
Application
Administer PRP within 10-30 minutes after obtaining. When treating multiple areas, distribute volume according to recommendations table. Follow injection technique for each anatomical area.
Critically important
Critically important: maintain exact 12 ml volume to maintain optimal blood:anticoagulant ratio.
Why do therapeutic tubes cost more than laboratory tubes?
MM Medic tubes are class IIa medical devices certified for therapeutic use. Laboratory tubes (IVD) are intended exclusively for testing and disposal, not for introduction into the human body.
Contents
Safe anticoagulants (citrate, heparinate) or no additives (PRF)—formulated for therapeutic use. Laboratory tubes contain EDTA, which irreversibly destroys platelets.
Material
Medical borosilicate glass or special medical-grade PET—selected for the specific therapeutic protocol. Laboratory tubes are not designed for contact between their contents and the patient's tissues.
Certification
ISO 13485:2016, safety class IIa, gamma sterilization, individual sterile packaging. Laboratory tubes carry only an IVD marking.
Note
The cost difference compared to laboratory tubes is 50–80 UAH—less than 2% of the procedure cost (2,500–5,000 UAH). Using uncertified tubes for injections violates the law and puts the patient's health at risk. Learn more in the FAQ
